Three-Dimensional Stereolithographic Nanoscale Printing and Additive Nanomanufacturing
Additive Manufacturing, fondly known as 3D Printing is a hot topic these days due to its ability for rapid prototyping. Although still in its infancy and still regarded as a novelty, its potential for industrial applications may lie in the smallest details. Combined with nanotechnology (the study of material properties at the nanoscale level [x10^-9]), additive nano-manufacturing allows for ultra-precise applications in tissue engineering, microscale circuit boards, and photonic devices. This study examines the applications and theoretical procedures of AFM and STM technologies to develop a new, practical, and economical method of industrial additive manufacturing.
